Archetypal symbols and dream images are an important part of my art practise. The divine colour of blue has a direct link to my cultural background. These symbols are like blue prints of universal patterning of the psyche. They short circuit the conscious and direct access to the deeper perception of the unconscious..


Tamris Ustun is a Sydney based artist, whose work is evolving from her life in Australia and is underpinned by her rich Turkish heritage.

Tamris has an extensive exhibiting career that includes the State Galleries of NSW and Victoria, and State Galleries in Turkey. Her work is both sculptural and two dimensional and reflects her Turkish heritage.

She has an excellent eye for beauty and approaches art criticism with respect for the human spirit of creativity.

Tamris has graduated with an Honours degree in Visual Arts at the College of the Arts, University of Sydney, and holds a Masters Degree in Teaching Visual Arts from University of Sydney.

She also studied painting at the The National Art School, Medowbank Tafe and University of Sydney.

Tamris is currently working as a teacher. She is also on occasion gives art related lectures and conducts regular workshops.

Tamris has lived in Turkey and has extensive traveling experience in this wondrous land both as a tour leader and a guest lecturer.

Currently she exhibits around the Sydney Galleries regularly.
